We encourage an open exchange of opinions on the content provided on baldwinsvillemessenger.com, and we consider it an important element of the user experience on our site. As publisher, I encourage posters to focus their comments on the issues and refrain from any personal attacks on individuals and/or their families. Please hurrry, the comments that people having been leaving lately have been shameful! And it is always the same people! Find something positive to do. Big people talk about doing great things, small people talk about each other!

Counting you Louise, 4 people have posted. Please, urge the messenger to silence the us because your sensibilities have been offended. Only rainbows and butterfly comments are allowed.

Turgid- We welcome your opinions as well as the opinions of others from Baldwinsville who are interested in current events. Our intention is not to silence anyone and, like you, sites that feature "only rainbows and butterfly comments" don't interest me anymore than they interest you. All we want to do is establish some basic ground rules so that the playing field is even for everyone.

The playing field will never be level here. The criminal conspiracy that has been running the Town of Lysander for personal profit for decades will not allow anyone to take that away from them.

Mr. Tyler, I look forward to the Messengers guidelines. I will read them closely and then provide you with feedback if you desire. The town has silenced citizens at town meetings, agents of the town/LRC have tried to silience various pages on facebook, Syracuse.com North Forum is monopolized by Liverpool and that leaves the Messenger. The paper and online look as if they are being balanced with the reporting of the Republican Primary which I thank you. I expect the PS to run a hatchet piece any day. I would hope the Messenger doesn't. Have a nice day.

Nice job, Mr. Tyler. I retract my compliment to the paper for balanced reporting of the primary. With the numerous pro-Barry letters to the editor appearing in the paper this week, you showing your bias. Great for Barry, Bad for the citizens. And you wonder why your circulation numbers are dwindling.

9 to 1 in favor of Bullis. 3 to 1 in favor of Warner. Nice lack of balance but I should at least thank you for giving me the forum to post numerous times. Oh throw up burp. I just noticed the 1/3 page ad for Barry. Well, at least he is spending someones money to put that ad in the paper. I hope you at least up charged the LRC for running the ad. Oh, crap. I just noticed the Lysander 1st ad. Nice, a good old slogging in the mud.

Turgid: We published every letter we received on the subject this week, so it is hard to blame the Messenger for the disparity in letters supporting the candidates. There is clearly a difference between what the Messenger has reported and what is published as a letter to the editor. We are responsible for impartial coverage of the issues, just as we are responsible for providing a forum for public opinions. I believe we have lived up to both responsibilities throughout this process. Political advertising is charged at the same rate on both sides and only runs if payment is received in advance.

IMHO, what is written doesn't have to be pleasant, but it should be written in a respectful way. When someone starts to become rude, they tend to lose their point with people...even when those people are on their side. (especially in a forum such as this because people don't know your character to start with)

I would suggest eliminating the anonymous comments. People should have to stand by what they say.
