Racino opposition financially backed by Turning Stone

— Also on the agenda was a resolution that I sponsored to assist the Whispering Oaks residents with their sewer problems. The Onondaga County Legislature unanimously approved allocating $60,000 to help defray the costs of the Whispering Oaks Sewer District Expansion project. This $60,000 will be applied to your sewer unit charge over the next five years. This will result in a reduction of about $200 per household from the proposed estimated costs of the project. I would like to thank the Town of Lysander Supervisor, Barry Bullis, for his assistance in seeking the additional funding from the county to reduce the costs associated with this important project. Supervisor Bullis’ ability to work with the County Executive and the County Legislature has really kept this project in the forefront. Hopefully, there is additional growth along Route 370 over the next five years that will assist in keeping the sewer unit charge down. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact me or Supervisor Bullis.

Thanks Mr. Lesniak. Now all the parties (homeowners, Town of Lysander and Onondaga County) involved except one (Obrien and Gere who engineered the system) have contributed to this project. A big thank you to the citizens of New York for their support through the DEC grant.
