Babysitting course offered Feb. 22

A babysitting course for youth 11 years and older will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, at the Lysander Town Hall auditorium. The course will include: planning for a babysitting job; knowing what to expect of children; selecting toys and games; supervising children; preventing accidents; giving first aid; rescue breathing; caring for infants and children; and feeding them. Students who complete the course will receive a resource book full of pertinent information, as well as a certificate of completion. Students should bring a lunch.

Snow tubing night

Come out and join the fun and go snow tubing from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Four Season Ski Center, which supplies the tubes and pulls participants up the hill. A good time for kids of all ages. The snow tubing hill is different from the skiing hill to keep you safe and having fun.

Ballroom dancing

Join this ballroom dancing course, held from 8 to 9 p.m. Mondays (Feb. 27 to March 26) at Elden Elementary’s all purpose room if you are interested in learning to dance like the stars, have a big, upcoming social event like a wedding or you just want to dance for fun. Taught by Walt Medics Dance Studio.

Winter tennis lessons

Lessons are taught by USTPA Certified Professional instructor from Tennis-N-Gear at Gold’s Gym. Session II (Feb. 27 to April 21) held 5 to 6 p.m. Mondays (future champs - 8 to 11 years; and rippers - 12 to 15 years) 4 to 5 p.m. Fridays (rookies - 5 to 7 years; future champs - 8 to 11 years; and rippers - 12 to 15 years) and 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturdays (tots, future champs and rippers).

Wine making class

Grab a friend and have some fun while learning about wine making then take home the wine that you make. This course, held from 6 to 6:30 p.m. or 7 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday nights (March 1 to April 19) at Syracuse Wine Works, allows participants to choose from many different wine kits, each of which make 28 to 30 bottles of wine. Wine choices include reds, whites, dry, sweet and fruits and the juices come from all over the world. Whether you are just beginning to enjoy a good wine or have loved wine for years, you will really enjoy the experience and love the wine that you make. Your wine is perfect for gifts or just to enjoy yourself and with friends. The fruit wines might make a great slushie for summer. Syracuse Wine Works is at 6 Mechanic St., Baldwinsville. This class is for adults 21 and over.
