Baldwinsville Swimming lessons for children 5 years old and older and more than 44 inches tall will be held Saturdays, Jan. 14 through March 31 (no lessons Feb. 4 and 25), at the Baker High School pool. Pre-testing will begin Jan. 14 to make sure children are placed in the right level. Classes are limited to 10 children per class.
Culinary Club for Tweens
Calling all junior chefs interested in learning how to plan, prepare and cook homemade meals. Culinary Club will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. (9-12 years old) and 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (13 to 16 years old) Saturdays, Jan. 14, 28, Feb. 11 and March 10 at Durgee Jr. HS, room 148. Each class students will learn how to make something different, such as bread, soup, meals and desserts; all supplies will be provided at each lesson.
B’ville youth wrestling
This five-week co-ed program, held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays through Feb. 2 at Baker High School’s wrestling room, is an excellent way to learn some of the right moves and holds that once made Baldwinsville a power house in the sport. This is a contact program, held in a safe and fun environment for boys and girls in third through sixth grades.
Girls’ basketball open gym
This five-week basketball program, held from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays, Jan. 18 to Feb. 15, at Van Buren Elementary’s gym, is a light instructional program for girls age 7 to 13. The first half-hour of each practice will consist of basic skill instruction. The last half-hour will be organized games with light instruction to help reinforce skills learned. Instructor for the program will be Gary May.
Snow tubing night
Come out and join the fun and go snow tubing from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Four Season Ski Center, which supplies the tubes and pulls participants up the hill. A good time for kids of all ages. The snow tubing hill is different from the skiing hill to keep you safe and having fun.
