— Red Cross Babysitting Class

The Town of Lysander Parks and Recreation Department will offer a Red Cross babysitting course from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, June 22, at the Lysander Town Hall, 8220 Loop Road, Radisson. The course will include: planning for a babysitting job; knowing what to expect of children; selecting toys and games; supervising children; preventing accidents; giving First Aid; rescue breathing; caring for infants and children; and feeding them. Students who complete the course will receive a resource book full of pertinent information, an Emergency Reference Guide and a CD ROM with valuable tools. They will also receive a certificate of completion. Students must be at least 11 years old before the program begins and should bring a lunch and a writing utensil.

Junior tennis lessons

Group lessons for youth from 5 to 15 years old will be offered at the beginner and intermediate level for four, one-hour lessons over a four-week period on Mondays and Wednesdays (morning and evening lessons available).

Art Camp

Young artists will explore famous artists and various art making techniques in this one-week art camp held Monday through Thursday (June 25 to 28) at Lysander Town Hall. Come prepared to be creative and have fun. This camp will cover drawing with oil pastel, water colors, print making techniques, improving drawing skills, book making and an art reception for the parents. This program is broken up into three age groups and times: 4 to 6 year olds, 9 to 10 a.m.; 7 to 10 year olds, 10:30 a.m. to noon; and 11 to 12 year olds, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
