Something for every taste at Taste of Baldwinsville

— This year’s Taste of Baldwinsville will have a little something to appeal to every taste, be it food or beverage, auction items or music.

The event, which generates about half the funds needed to support the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center’s programs, will be held from 6 to 10 p.m. May 19 at the CNY Family Sports Centre on Jones Road. This year’s judges will be from the Silver Knights soccer team.

The judges and attendees will be sampling pizza, wings, sandwiches/wraps, appetizers, desserts and house specialties from 19 different restaurants and food vendors. Patrons will also be able to sample a variety of Anheuser Busch products and wines provided by Swedish Hill Winery.

In addition to the food tasting, the event will feature the music provided by DJ Platinum Grage. The Baldwinsville Volunteer Center is excited to welcome Rachel Grage to provide a great atmosphere for the evening.

The main attraction of the event will be the silent auction of many great items donated by local businesses, neighborhoods, school teachers, individuals and organizations. The committee has already received more than 100 donations and is accepting additional items every day.

“This year’s donations have been very generous and we’re looking forward to a lot of active bidding,” said committee chair, Andrea Gagas.

Some of the top auction items include a 2012 season membership to Foxfire Golf Course (cart included) and many other golf items, an Adirondack photo donated by Adirondacks by Dale, a 10-speed bicycle donated by Tops Market, tickets to Syracuse Stage and Merry-Go-Round Playhouse, and much more.

The event has received sponsorship from many generous businesses including: Syracuse Home Health & Rehab Center, Avalon Document Services, Evans Chevrolet, Hudson & Mowins, Sabre Demolition, University Hill Gastroenterology Associates and several others.
