Police blotter: Two face DWI charges

— At 1:17 a.m. Oct. 10, police observed a vehicle traveling on Downer Street traveling into the oncoming lane of travel. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as James P. Allan, 36, of 3508 Hayes Road, Baldwinsville. Alcohol involvement was detected and Allan was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI and failure to keep right. He was processed and released on his own recognizance to appear in court on Nov. 14.

At 2:06 a.m. Oct. 15, police observed a vehicle traveling on Salina Street flash its high beams at them, appearing to alert that a police vehicle was parked down the roadway. The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Yurah S. Vaughan, 34, of 7 Division St., Baldwinsville. Alcohol involvement was determined and Vaughan was arrested and charged with DWI, failure to signal a turn and failure to dim high beams. She was processed and released on her own recognizance to appear in court on Nov. 14.

Man arrested for driving with suspended license

At 12:35 a.m. Oct. 9, police observed a vehicle traveling on Oswego Street cross over into the oncoming lane of travel. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Kevin R. Connolly, 46, of 14 Knights Circle, Baldwinsville. DMV checks showed that Connolly’s driver’s license was suspended and he was arrested and charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and uninspected motor vehicle. He was processed and released to appear in court on Nov. 14.

Student arrested for possession of a controlled substance

On Sept. 24 at Baker High School, administrative officials with the assistance of the school resource officer were investigating information of a potential fight involving a weapon. During the investigation, it was discovered that a student possessed pills, which were identified as Adderall, a schedule II controlled substance. The pills were packaged and it is alleged that they were to be given to other students at the school. Arrested and charged with criminal possession of a fifth-degree controlled substance was Joseph Doyle, 17, of 36 Virginia St., Baldwinsville. He was processed and arraigned before Judge McMahon who released him on his own recognizance to appear in court on Oct. 3.
