Baldwinsville In reference to the proposition that will appear on the November ballot to change the Lysander Highway Superintendent to an appointed position, I am opposed to this change. I value my vote. I want and expect to be able to vote for my local officials.
In the scheme of things, I feel my vote is buried in red and blue states on a national level. On the state level, downstate and New York City often control the outcome. We’re getting closer to the target with a countywide vote.
However, here in my hometown of Lysander, I feel that my vote counts. I have a feeling of ownership and can have direct contact with my elected officials. I value my vote and I desire to continue to cast my vote for the highway superintendent.
Kit Thompson is a frustrated voter residing in Baldwinsville.
