COLUMN: Volunteer Connections - Enchanted Beaver Lake is right around the corner

— Volunteers are needed for Autumn events at Beaver Lake Nature Center.

Getting ready for Enchanted Beaver Lake takes a lot of help to get the nearly 500 pumpkins carved for this event. If you would like to help carve pumpkins, please call for the days and times. Enchanted Beaver Lake will take place Thursday, Oct. 25, through Sunday, Oct. 28, and help will be needed between 5 to 8:30 p.m. each night. Volunteers are needed to help line the trails with luminaries, act as a trail guide, kids’ crafts and games and serving popcorn, donuts, cider, hot dogs and caramel apples (minimum age requirement is 16).

If you would like to learn more about these volunteer opportunities, please contact Margaret Tzen at 638-2519.

Another village Halloween event looking for helpers is the Annual Halloween Window Painting sponsored by the Baldwinsville Optimist Club. Volunteers are needed to help pass out the paint from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 20. Optimists will also need help cleaning the paint off the windows from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 3, (minimum age requirement is 16). For more information, please call either Nancy Conley at 638-0251 or Gene Hearl at 516-1787.

The B’ville Express needs more volunteer drivers to take senior citizens to medical appointments and other local errands. Days and times are flexible to your availability. Please call Ellen Stevens at 638-0097 for more information.
