Ashley Rausa, a member of the Baldwinsville Central School District Marching Band, concentrates on perfecting her part for the new marching band season.
The Baldwinsville Central School District Marching Band’s home show is set for Saturday, Sept. 14 at Pelcher-Arcaro Stadium, located on the district’s main campus at 29 East Oneida St. in the village of Baldwinsville. Doors open at 4 p.m. and the show begins at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $6, and food and beverages will be available to purchase. If the weather is inclement, the show will be moved to the Baker High School gym. A total of 10 bands will compete in the show.
This year, Baldwinsville’s Marching Band is competing at the National Class level, the top level of competition in New York state. The New York State Field Band Conference executive board recommends bands for this level based on a band program’s reputation and quality, prior year’s scores, the experience of its staff, and the size of the school district. It is considered an honor to be selected for this level of competition.
